Hi Mike Baker here. I have been teaching CI for 9 years now. I conceived and ran the Nelson Lakes Mountain Jam CI Dance Retreat in the Nelson Lakes National Park for 5 years.

I am currently practicing and teaching CI with my wife Fiona on a weekly basis in Nelson, NZ Aotearoa.

I am half way through my Masters in Art and Design, majoring in dance and video entitled 'In the Company of Strangers). If you are interested please have a look at my blog (above) where for the last year and a half I have been posting my process and research practice with text and movie clips.

I lecture full-time at NMIT in Nelson in Visual Arts and Design with a focus on Installation/Performance/Video.

Juliet Shelley is a teacher and performer of contact improvisation and improvisational dance. She began teaching and performing CI independently and with Jointwork Dance Group in the UK in 1987, after studying dance at the Laban Centre, London and the Center for New Dance Development (the Theaterschool) Da Costakade, Amsterdam. Her teachers of contact and improvisational dance include Steve Paxton, Julyen Hamilton, Mark Thompkins, Kirstie Simpson, Nancy Stark Smith, Ray Chung, Martin Keogh, Andrew Marcus, Katie Duck, Michael Schumacher, Karen Nelson, Deborah Hay, Alessandro Certini, Charlotte Zerbey, (Company Blu, Italy) Olive Bieringer and Otto Ramstadt.
Juliet has taught and performed in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. She is available to perform and teach workshops and classes in Contact Improvisation, Improvisational Dance, Technique, and Performance within New Zealand and in Europe, Asia and the USA.
